what is 001?
001 is a small non-government organisation based in Sydney that develops funding for specific projects in the rehabilitation and ongoing development of the eastern provinces of Sri Lanka including Ampara and Batticaloa.
001's core belief is that local community-based organisations living in these provinces can best assess their own needs. We listen to them and respond by funding achievable and sustainable projects.
001 is managed by a volunteer committee and all fund raising activities for 001 are project specific. This means you are assured that your money goes directly to the project that you have selected.
Why 001?
The HTV-001 is an innovative, locally-made, combine-rice harvester. The project represented the aspirations for 001 - locally developed, funding was project-specific and it was a success.
